In our ongoing commitment to supporting the career development of i3S researchers, we hosted, together with the i3S Career Development Unit another inspiring “Once a scientist… Uncovering Career Journeys” session. This time, we welcomed Neuza Teixeira, PhD, Country Medical Director at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Portugal.
In a full yet relaxed room, Neuza shared an open and honest perspective on her career journey. Hearing firsthand about roles such as Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Medical Excellence, and Medical Manager – what they actually involve, how to navigate the transition from research to industry, and which skills matter most – especially the value a PhD brings to these positions – was incredibly helpful and refreshing for our researchers. Events like this serve as a great reminder that there’s no single “right” path in science!
