Molecular Biomaterials’ Early-Career Scientists secure funding to host Symposium on Biomaterials Engineering

The Molecular Biomaterials group members, Joana Silva, Karen Galle, Sara Silva, and Vijay Pal, will host an Early Career Life Scientists’ Symposia (ECLS Symposia) on Biomaterials Engineering at the i3S.

The ECLS Symposia, funded by the Biochemical, Physiological, and Pharmacological societies in the UK, are one-day scientific conferences “run by early career life scientists, for early career life scientists”. The organisers are encouraged to promote networking and professional development through social events, careers sessions, scientific talks, and poster sessions.

The symposium, entitled “Biomaterials engineering: working at crossroads of physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology for advancing knowledge of biological systems and developing treatments of diseases”, will focus on the crossroads of physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology for advancing knowledge of biological systems and developing disease treatments. The event will also feature a roundtable discussion on career paths in science, a workshop seminar titled “How to Elevate Your Career in Research?”, and various networking opportunities.
