Sara Silva, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Molecular Biomaterials Group, led by the MOBILIsE ERA-Chair holder, Helena Azevedo, was honoured with a Travel Grant Merit Award from the International Society for Hyaluronan Sciences (ISHAS) to participate in the 15th International Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Meeting – Hyaluronan 2025 – held from June 8-12, 2025, at the Q Centre, St. Charles, Illinois, USA.
This award offered her a valuable opportunity to present her research work on bioengineering Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) models using self-assembling peptides and Hyaluronan, in collaboration with Dr. Joe Forth, University of Liverpool, UK, network with peers, and gain insights from leading experts in the field.
Helena Azevedo was also invited to be present, to officially announce that the 16th edition of this Meeting will be hosted by her in Porto, Portugal, in May 2027.
