MOBILIsE is organising a Molecular Bioengineering course to take place in November

Mariana Bexiga
MOBILIsE Project Manager

The MOBILIsE project is organising the first edition of Molecular Bioengineering courses dedicated to supramolecular peptide hydrogels. The course will be delivered by renowned international experts who will introduce the participants not only to the foundational knowledge on the various integrated topics, but also to the latest advances in the field. Hands-on training sessions will also be offered as the practical component of the course to allow the participants to become familiarised with state-of-the-art hydrogel characterisation methods.

This advanced course is targeted to all those interested in supramolecular peptide hydrogels, their advanced characterisation and biomedical applications, including MSc and PhD students, researchers and industry professionals. Helena Azevedo, MOBILISE’s ERA Chair Holder and organiser of this course, states that “one of the main objectives of the project MOBILIsE is to promote capacity building in Molecular Bioengineering at INEB/i3S and educate the next generation of Molecular Bioengineers, so this course was designed with that in mind”. She adds that “the participants of this course will learn how to design supramolecular peptide hydrogels through molecular engineering approaches, as well as understand how to characterise them using advanced and unconventional techniques”.

After the first edition, which will take place from the 20th to the 24th of November, the Molecular Bioengineering courses will run on a yearly basis, with each edition focussing on a different topic.

Early-bird registrations, with a lower registration fee, are open until the 16th July, with the regular registration being open until the 8th of September. More information about the programme and how to register can be found here.
