The MOBILIsE ERA Chair Holder, Helena Azevedo, has been named among the World’s Top 2% Scientists, along with 15 other researchers from the i3S including Bruno Sarmento (WP5 leader).
The i3S is represented by 16 researchers in the list of the most cited scientists in the world in 2023. This data comes from the most recent update of the “World’s Top 2% Scientists list”, which annually classifies the most cited scientists worldwide in their respective fields, according to SCOPUS, the world’s largest database of abstracts and citations of scientific publications.
Covering a total of 22 areas and 174 scientific disciplines, this list drawn up by researchers at Stanford University (USA) and published by the prestigious publisher Elsevier presents a restricted selection of scientists considered active, whose work has accelerated progress in their fields, also influencing the productivity of the work of other researchers.
In total, the list includes 223,152 scientists from around the world, 889 of whom develop or have developed their work in Portuguese scientific institutions. Of these, more than 20% are linked to the University of Porto and its research centers. Congratulations to all of them!
