FEUP students visit the Molecular Biomaterials Lab

On Monday, May 19th, the Molecular Biomaterials group welcomed a group of students from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto (FEUP).

The visit was organised as part of the training in Biomechanics from the Bioengineering undergraduate Course (3rd year). Its aim was to provide students with an overview of the main research areas pursued by the group, as well as current projects in progress, helping them explore potential career paths and opportunities for future involvement.

During the visit, researcher Rui Pereira delivered a presentation on his current work focused on developing blood-brain barrier models using peptide/hyaluronic acid membranes to assess their use under both physiological and cancer conditions. Following the presentation, he and the researcher Sara Silva guided the students on a tour of the laboratory.
