From the 2nd to the 6th of December 2024, MOBILIsE hosted the 2nd edition of the MOBILIsE “Advanced Course in Molecular Bioengineering” at the i3S, bringing together international experts and researchers for a week of intensive learning and networking.
The course explored the science and technologies involved in surface functionalization and characterization, as well as the design of interfaces for various biomedical applications, including cell culture and biosensing, being taught by international experts who shared their diverse and complementary expertise with the participants (check programme). Taking advantage of their presence, MOBILIsE hosted a Molecular Bioengineering Seminar at INEB/i3S featuring Prof Julien Gautrot from the School of Engineering and Materials Science at the Queen Mary University of London, UK, who shared his insights on bioengineering approaches for cultivating cells at liquid interfaces.
Bringing together lecturers and attendees from various countries and nationalities (Bulgaria, Colombia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Portugal, Russia, UK), this course also provided a valuable networking opportunity, along with coffee and tea breaks sponsored by QLabo.
The course was was highly valued by both participants and lecturers, and it will return next year for its third edition.
“The quality of the talks were very good, and the objective of the practical part too. It was a welcoming enviroment promoting networking and discussion.”
