MOBILIsE researchers return to the Diamond Light Source, the UK’s national synchrotron science facility

Bárbara Matos and Carlos Redondo, post-doctoral researchers from the MOBILIsE ERA Chair research team, held a research visit to the Diamond Light Source, the UK’s national synchrotron science facility, located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, for a week in June.

The research team used the Synchrotron Radiation Circular Dichroism B23 beamline, managed by Prof Giuliano Siligardi (Principal Beamline Scientist), to investigate the structural features of self-assembled peptide hydrogels via Mueller Matrix Polarimetry (MMP). The results will help to understand the underlying nanostructure formation mechanism of these supramolecular hydrogels, which will be correlated with their performance as living therapeutics with anti-tumour potential.
